High Aspirations for the Future of Club Volleyball at Abbott
Volleyball Friends & Families,
My name is Tara Dye and I have been coaching volleyball at the Abbott Sports Complex with the Nebraska Volleyball Academy for the last two years. In my time with NVA, I have had some great experiences and worked through some challenges that I hope have prepared me for my new role as Volleyball Coordinator for the Abbott Sports Complex. I am excited to be taking on the leadership position with regards to both the academy aspect of NVA and the club volleyball aspect. I am committed to improving and adding to our successful year-round training academy portion and leading a Club that emphasizes player development.
Hopefully, all of you have enjoyed the tremendous facilities, coaching and development that NVA has offered in the past. Unfortunately, not everything has gone as smoothly as it could, or frankly should. NVA has made mistakes and those mistakes have contributed to a growing negativity surrounding the Club and its players and coaches. Given all the wounds that NVA club volleyball has suffered (some self inflicted, others not) I feel that a fresh start would be beneficial. After hours of evaluating my personal experiences, speaking with parents, players and coaches, I have decided that the best option is to start from scratch with club - NEW LEADERSHIP, A NEW OUTLOOK, A NEW FUTURE – all with a new NAME! While NVA will continue to be as strong as ever in the ACADEMY through camps, clinics, leagues, lessons, programs, and pure training year-round; club volleyball will now be known as the LINCOLN EXTREME.
I have high aspirations for the future of club volleyball at Abbott! After all, we do have the BEST facility around to train and play in and I want to capitalize on that. I believe that the future is bright and I’m committed to putting NVA academy and club volleyball on a positive path of growth. I am reaching out to all of you for your support. In my efforts to start over with club, my hope is that a clean slate will attract some of the families and coaches that we have known and loved in the past, as well as bring in new families and coaches that will grow with us in this new venture.
I am committed to doing my best to make this the club that your family is looking for. I have been working to finalize the coaching staff for 2012. We are excited about continuing the high quality of training that our athletes expect and deserve; training that compares favorably with any other club. I think we have a line-up and plan that is very suitable and competitive for this upcoming club season.
I have set up a day and time for a parent-player informational meeting regarding club volleyball. It will take place on Oct. 16th at 6:00 PM in the tennis center at the Abbott Sports Complex. At this meeting I will be presenting you with all of the information that I have put together for club and will be able to answer any questions and/or concerns that you might have.
I am confident that after learning about the new direction for club volleyball at the Abbott Sports Complex, you will want to come: “GET IN WHERE YOU FIT IN” – the new Lincoln Extreme family!
Please feel free to contact me to discuss any concerns you might have. The feedback is always appreciated and I will do my best to accommodate concerns and desires.
I look forward to seeing you all in the gym!
Thank you,
Tara Dye
