NVA Lessons

The Nebraska Volleyball Academy offers volleyball lessons to suit any athlete’s needs.
 
Trying a new skill? 
Our private one-on-one lessons give you the privacy and direct attention needed to learn the most difficult skills in volleyball.
Looking to polish up a skill?
Then look no further than our semi-private lessons. In groups of 2-3 athletes, coaches have the ability to create more “game-like” circumstances in a lesson setting.
Do you learn best in a group setting?
Our group lessons cater to groups of 4-6 and really open up the possibilities for drills and training.

NVA Lesson Coaches

 

Tara Dye

Tara graduated from Graceland University in Lamoni, IA where she was a setter under the 12-time Heart of America Athletic Conference Coach of the Year, Stew McDole.  In her fifth year of college she was given the opportunity to accept the position of Head Coach of one of Graceland’s junior varsity volleyball teams.  She led her team to the JV HAAC Conference Championship.  Tara has a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Health with a Coaching minor.  She also coached for three years at the high school level while living in Missouri.  She moved to Lincoln after getting married and has two sons – Aaron & Emmett.  Tara has coached club volleyball with NVA the past two seasons as Head Coach of the NVA 16 Black, NVA 17 Adidas, and NVP 14 Black teams.  The past two years, she has also served as Head Coach for the Junior Varsity at Waverly High School.  She specializes in setter training while also training girls of all ages in every facet of the game.

 

Brittany Behrens

Originally from Beatrice NE, Brittany played club volleyball in Lincoln and was an All-Conference player at Creighton University and an All-American at Wayne State College.  She attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Law, and graduated in May of 2010.  She also served a one-year position as junior varsity volleyball coach at Lincoln Southeast High School.  Brittany remains active in coaching by serving as a club volleyball coach with Nebraska Juniors.  During her high school and college playing days, Brittany played both the setter and libero positions.  She specializes in setter training while also training girls of all ages in every facet of the game.


 

Ashley Brozek

Ashley Brozek is a 2011 graduate of Lincoln Lutheran High School. She is a freshman at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln studying Biology. After starting volleyball in fourth grade and playing till her senior year of high school, she couldn't leave the sport and stayed involved with summer clinics at the Abbott Sports Complex. During the fall of 2011, Ashley was asked to coach the Middle School B team for Lincoln Lutheran. Accepting this job made her realize she loved to coach and she accepted the next opportunity to coach in the fall NVL league at Abbott. This lead her to become a head coach at Lincoln Extreme this club season.


 

Emma Hybl

Emma graduated from Lincoln Lutheran High School in 2011 and is currently a freshman at Nebraska Wesleyan University majoring in accounting. She is also playing volleyball for the Prairie Wolves as a defensive specialist. In high school, Emma played a variety of sports but focused on volleyball. She played club volleyball for NVA, Nebraska Juniors, and Nebraska Elite. In high school, she was named academic all-conference, first-team all conference, and all-state honorable mention her sophomore, junior and senior seasons. During her time at Lincoln Lutheran, Emma received three varsity volleyball letters under coach Jenny Olsen.
