Our primary concern is giving each young player the best possible chance to reach their potential at whatever level that might be - high school, regional, sectional or even national. We know developing potential takes a long time - this is why we use the Long Term Player Development Program. The years between 6 and 16 are critical, they set the base for the adult player.
At NTA we identify what is important for young players to learn at different ages and stages of their tennis development. We identify the skills to be learned at the prime learning times - the windows of opportunity. We know teaching during these windows accelerates learning. We also know that when the windows are missed, it is more difficult for players to extend their skill base as they mature.
In addition, we will identify:
* The most suitable type of competition for each age.
* How many tournament matches should be played each year.
* How each year should be structured between training and competition.
The training programs in this brochure are based on a sound understanding of the principles of childhood and tennis development. When we use this program, every young player stands a chance of reaching his or her potential.
In addition to professional instruction, parental support is essential for the development of young players. We are looking forward to working with you and your child.
Academy Values:

Our academy program will develop each young player to THEIR own full potential, whatever that potential might be. From high school, regional, sectional or even national competitions, our academy training will prepare your child for success. We know developing potential takes a long time - that is why we use the Long Term Player Development Program.
The years between 6 AND 16 are critical. What and How a young player is taught during these years shapes their tennis future. Our Parents Guidance Brochure identifies what is important for young players to learn at different ages and stages of their tennis development. It identifies the skills that should be learned AND the prime times for teaching them the Windows of Opportunity. We know teaching during these Windows accelerates learning. We also know if the Windows are missed, it becomes more difficult for players to extend their skill base as they mature.
Our academy training program is based on a sound understanding of the principles of child and tennis development. Every young academy student will have the chance to reach their full potential.
Financial constraints can make academy training difficult for some families. We have created the Abbott Scholarship Program to help remove this constraint. Scholarship assistance is available for players of all ages and abilities.
In addition to professional academy instruction, parental support is essential for the development of young players. We look forward to working with you and your child.
