Pam Peetz
Director of NVA


Pam Peetz is in her third year as Director of the Nebraska Volleyball Academy. She has 15+ years of volleyball coaching experience (8 years at the high school level; 7 years at the NCAA Division II level; and 1 year at the NCAA Division I level). She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a Masters Degree in Sports Management. She is in charge of all programs associated with the Nebraska Volleyball Academy including the club volleyball program. She oversees all training, scheduling, hiring and education of coaches, budget, staff development, etc. 

 

John Schmidt III
Assistant Director of NVA


John was hired as the Assistant Director for the Nebraska Volleyball Academy in January of 2010. He is originally from Texas and has 10+ years college coaching experience at both the Division I and Division II levels. Additionally, he has coached with eight different club volleyball programs in Texas including the nationally renown Austin Juniors, Dallas Skyline, and Texas Advantage club volleyball programs. He directed the Club West End junior volleyball program in Austin, TX which had 9 teams and 110 participants in their first year. Over the years, John has spent his summers working numerous college volleyball camps including Notre Dame, Purdue, North Texas, and Alabama. Schmidt earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communications and a minor in exercise and sports science at Texas State University.

 

 

Bryce Hickerson

Volleyball Professional / Master Coach


Bryce begins his fourth year with the Abbott Sports Complex and the Nebraska Volleyball Academy as a Volleyball Professional / Master Coach. He attended West Aurora High School just outside of Chicago, IL. He was a multi-sport athlete during high school and also gained valuable experience as a student athletic trainer. Bryce also played volleyball at the collegiate level and obtained his undergraduate degree in Sports Medicine from Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis. Bryce found himself in a tough spot midway through his college career after blowing out his knee. After two full ACL reconstructive surgeries with over a year of intense rehab plus extra conditioning to get him back into shape, Bryce was again named to the first team all-conference team. Through his various volleyball experiences, his passion for training players developed.
