Goals of the Program
The goal at NVA is to provide the opportunity for players in Nebraska to play club volleyball at the best facility with coaching available to take players and teams to a higher level, to compete at the highest level of the sport, and to offer the best total volleyball skills training to girls 10-18 years old.
What is club Volleyball?
Club volleyball is the opportunity for players in our area to play volleyball at the highest level of our region, zone, and in the country. Looking at the big picture there are 3 reasons to play club volleyball: to reach your personal goal to play volleyball on a high school team, to play regional/national volleyball competition and get seen by college coaches, or to get national team exposure.
At NVA club volleyball is a select program. Players will tryout for NVA from all high schools in Lincoln and the surrounding areas. Understand that a player may be the best setter at her school but may not be the best setter in the area. We do our best to place players on teams that will help them grow as an indvidual player and, at the same time, help her team play at the highest level of the region, zone or country. Understanding and embracing this environment is important to have a successful club season!
Why should I play NVA if I don't make their "first" team?
Choosing a team shouldn't be based on whether it's the best team in that age division or in the club. Instead, a smart decision will consider the quality of the team, the coaching, your role on the team, and the program in general.
At NVA, our approach can be best described as "no second teams". It means the approach to every team is the same regardless of the division. We do everything possible for each team in the club. We expect a high degree of commitment from every player and coach on every team. All teams play a tournament schedule that challenges them.
Club volleyball can be some of the most exciting years in your volleyball career if you have the right focus going in!
Good Luck and welcome to NVA!
