Nebraska Football Academy

Building a Football Tradition for youth to ensure the Nebraska Football Tradition into the Future.

The Lincoln Sports Foundation is pleased to announce the founding of the Nebraska Football Academy.  NFA offers a competitive football experience dedicated to the development of student athletes ages 5-18.  This year round academy provides children the opportunity to participate in varied leagues including 7 versus 7 passing, team flag football and full contact, tackle play.  Athletes will develop through skills and performance clinics, summer camps and personal training directed by Former Husker and NFL players.

Our primary concern is giving each young player the best possible chance to reach their potential at whatever level that might be.  We know that developing that potential takes a long time.  The years between 5 AND 16 are critical time because it sets the base and foundation for the adult player.

NFA identifies what is important for young players to learn at different ages and stages of their football and athletic development.  We identify the skills that should be learned at the prime learning times which is called the window of opprotunity.  We know teaching during these windows accelerates learning.  We also know that if the windows are missed, it is then more difficult for players to extend their skill base as they mature.

The development of a child relies on many factors.  Parents being the most important.   The values taught at a young age are an integral part of a childs life.  The discipline and committment of athletics are another piece to the puzzle.  The NFA strives to provide a healthy environment emphasizing the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship and respect where children of all ages can improve themselves both on and off the field.
